Cultivating Community
Cultivating Community (CC) aims to help disadvantaged communities create secure food systems. With its community garden and outdoor bakery unit, CC will, in conjunction with partners at Community Health and Neighbourhood Justice Centre, bring together survivors of domestic violence to cook, bake and talk together. The location will be the public housing precinct of North Richmond, and the focus on CALD groups, women and children. Over some weeks, social connection and wellbeing will improve, and the prospect of system-wide change will emerge. Humanists Victoria has awarded five thousand dollars to this project.
