The Matrix and Philosophy, Part 2 (Philosophy Matters)

In this two-part series, Usha Sista explores an iconic movie trilogy of our generation, The Matrix. The Matrix juxtaposes and synthesises storytelling, philosophy and cognitive science through the cinematic medium. She will examine some of the philosophical underpinnings of the trilogy.
In the second session, Usha will look at The Matrix through the lens of contemporary cognitive science and philosophy of mind, such as the brain-in-the-vat argument and simulated reality, free will and freedom. Usha is looking forward to examining the trilogy and philosophy in conjunction with the participants.
