Strategies, Activism and Ethics for Shareholders

23 Sep 2021 @ 19:30 - 21:00 AEST

HV Public Presentation via Zoom

Stephen Mayne is a well known shareholder activist, Manningham city councillor and Walkley-Award winning journalist.

He has been bold and creative in speaking truth to power for more than twenty years. He was a whistleblower about Jeff Kennett’s share dealings in 1997 and founded in 2000, for which he still writes. In 2007 the Mayne Report  was launched, which is an archive of his writing and various campaigns.

He has stood for election in both the Federal and State Parliaments, and for directorships of many public companies, too numerous to list. Between 2011 and 2014, as a paid consultant to the Australian Shareholders Association, he advocated for improved corporate governance. Between 2017 and 2019 he worked for the Alliance for Gambling Reform. In 2020 he was elected as Councillor for Ruffey Ward of the Manningham Council.

His journey alone is worth hearing about, and his insights should not be missed.
