Climate Anxiety – Coping Together

12 May 2020 @ 17:00 - 18:30 AEST

As both our daily lives and the natural environment radically change what can Humanism offer?

We will briefly clarify the history and meaning of humanism. Then the main focus of the event will be to discuss its relevance and connection to climate change, the anxiety that this can raise and explore how current times might change this.

We’ll touch on the emotional support services available to the climate movement, and what humanism might add. We will encourage an open discussion of topics or themes that appeal to you.

“We want a tolerant world where rational thinking and kindness prevail. We work to support lasting change for a better society, championing ideas for the one life we have. We do this because we’re humanists, people who shape our own lives in the here and now because we believe it’s the only life we get.” – UK Humanists
